I retired from a 35-year career as a board-certified emergency physician in a busy trauma center. It is there that I first became interested in why some patients go on to develop PTSD after an injury and others do not. This inquiry led to a series of in-depth post-graduate trainings to understand the immediate and long-term effects of trauma on the body and mind, and the most effective methods for treatment.   

I now have a private practice in Marin County, California specializing in trauma-focused psychotherapy for persons with psychological, emotional and physical symptoms related to the effects of traumatic events.

I have assisted in training programs for the Internal Family System Institute, Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, teaching trauma treatment skills to other psychotherapists.
