Summary

Here to Help

Even though the root of trauma may be buried in the past, the symptoms that cause suffering are in the present. For that reason, I begin any trauma treatment by attending to what is going on in the present. There is no need to take a detailed trauma history at the start, because the story will become evident by attending to what is happening now.

Whether Single Incident (Shock), Complex or Developmental Trauma has occurred, Trauma-Focused therapy can bring about self-compassion for what has happened and offers a path to healing that may have felt elusive in traditional talk or cognitive-based therapies. My training and experience with IFS and somatic therapies (SE & SP) and my former career as an emergency physician uniquely qualify me to help you with the many psychological and emotional effects of trauma.
