Good Faith Estimate

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your psychotherapy care will cost.

A new federal ruling went into effect called the "No Surprise Act".  Under the law, health care providers, including psychotherapists, need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected cost for their services over the course of treatment.

You can ask your provider for a Good Faith Estimate before or after you schedule your first appointment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Note: The Good Faith Estimate will not be provided to patients who are using insurance benefits or those who wish to submit superbills for "out of network" reimbursement.
